Killer Nashville 2025

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been invited to speak on a panel at Killer Nashville 2025, one of the most respected gatherings for mystery and thriller writers, readers, and industry professionals. It's an honor to be part of this incredible event and to connect with others who share a passion for storytelling that keeps readers turning pages late into the night.

On Friday, August 22nd, from 1:50 to 2:35 p.m., I’ll be joining a distinguished group of authors for a panel titled “Developing Series Characters.” The panel will be held in the Birch Room and moderated by the talented Teel James Glenn.

Joining me on the panel are:

  • Cathy Rueter

  • Kemper Donovan

  • Lori Robbins

  • Steve Harms

Together, we’ll explore how authors create compelling characters that not only evolve with each book but also anchor a series in readers’ hearts. For me, the journey of Detective Abbey Rhodes has been deeply personal—from her traumatic past to her unshakable drive for justice—and I can’t wait to discuss how those kinds of layered protagonists are crafted.

Whether you're a writer looking to strengthen your own characters or a reader curious about the process behind your favorite book series, this session is sure to spark meaningful conversation and insight.

If you’re attending Killer Nashville this year, please stop by and say hello. I’d love to meet you and talk about all things mystery and storytelling.
